Greetings, pup heads! As we all know, puppies = joy. The first time you bring your doggo home is so special, you feel like you're on cloud nine. But before we enter puppy parenthood, we need to decide on the breed, whether we're adopting, shopping, rescuing, etc. We need to puppy-proof the house, buy food, toys, and any medicine that the dog may require.

Not everyone gets to choose their breed, but when we do, it's crucial we do our research. How big will the dog get? How much exercise will the dog need? Does the breed suffer from any chronic illnesses? How many vet appointments will you need to financially plan for? Is the breed suitable for families? And. So. Much. More.

"They grow into BIG dogs. Not as big as St. Bernards or Newfies, but big. Be prepared for a BIG puppy and then a BIG dog."
Big dogs require more space and much more food. It will cost more to feed a bigger dog rather than a smaller dog. Keep this in mind when planning out your budget for your new pupperoo.

Climate is one of the most important factors to consider when thinking of what breed to adopt. While some breeds are able to adapt, extra care and attention must be paid to them. Huskies, too, are able to adapt to warmer climates. But again, it's critical they get lots of water and exercise during cooler times of the day.
